Aren’t Indians stupid?

For the first time in US history the country’s senate opened with the chanting of the gayatri mantra. Rajan Ved sprinkled few drops of water around the podium from the Ganges before the start of the prayer.
Why do Indians want to show every time that they love their religion? Why can’t religion be practiced where it ought to be? Is the senate the place to do so?
Though some revolted and raised slogans against the act in the senate, majority stayed calm only for the reason that Indian support is most required in the coming US presidential elections and Indian community has the power to reverse the trends.
But it should be clear in our minds that no one would have sincerely liked the act, nor we would have if someone would have sung carols in our assemblies.
We want to shed India’s image of a land of snake charmers but such acts only reinforce it.
